Prof. Dr. Hajime Ushimaru

Dean of Graduate School of Business Administration
Meiji University, Tokyo, Japan

I have been involved in the double degree program between BATC, the predecessor of UTM’s AI School, and the Graduate School of Business Administration at Meiji University since its inception. At that time, virtual meeting infrastructure was not yet well developed, and the establishment of the program required numerous trips between Malaysia and Japan. Aligning the educational systems of our two countries was no simple task and demanded the dedicated collaboration of all those involved.

The International Conference on Engineering Business Management (ICEBM) was founded as a symbol of the strong academic and educational partnership between our institutions. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the success of this program and to this important conference.

This year’s ICEBM is particularly meaningful, as it marks the renaming of the Razak School to the AI School—an important step in UTM’s academic advancement. I am confident the AI School will continue to thrive as a center for cutting-edge research and innovation.

At Meiji University’s School of Business Administration, we have begun integrating digital technologies into our curriculum and plan to expand these efforts at the graduate level. In this context, our double degree program with AI school is more relevant than ever.

I hope that the close relationship between our two universities will continue to flourish and lead to even greater achievements in education and research.

Thank you and Terima Kasih !
